When teeth cannot line up properly or go on top of each other due to lack of space, orthodontic treatment is required.
- Gap between teeth is too large
- Front teeth are too forward, and lips cannot meet
- Upper teeth are in front of lower teeth in regular bite occlusion (overbite). The opposite situation where lower teeth are in front of upper teeth is called underbite
- Gap between upper and lower incisor teeth when teeth are in occlusion position (openbite).
- Front incisors are too far apart
- Having problems chewing or pronouncing certain letters
If your child still uses fake pacifiers or sucks his fingers after 4 years of age, we would recommend consulting an orthodontist.
Children who lost their milk teeth before time, children younger than 6 years with missing teeth especially caused by impacts or early extractions are advised to see an orthodontist.
