Not if appropriate anaesthesia methods are applied. During operation, general or local anaesthesia could be given according to patient’s preference. The pain felt on the night of installation can generally be handled with regular painkillers.
Many patients say this pain is not different from the pain felt after tooth extraction. In unproblematic cases where treatment is finished without any issues, you will be comfortable enough to forget you have an implant at first place.
